The rapid growth of the Internet and its applications has transformed society in unprecedented ways. From ordering a cup of coffee to managing global business operations, technology is reshaping countless aspects of our lives with remarkable convenience and efficiency. Yet, this success has also introduced new cybersecurity challenges. Threats such as ransomware, data breaches, and identity theft are on the rise, impacting individuals and organizations alike. As a result, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals has never been greater—experts who can safeguard our digital world and protect the foundations of modern society.
To meet this demand, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU), together with its CTF team NuttyShell, is hosting the “PolyU x NuttyShell Cybersecurity CTF 2026”. This competition aims to inspire and prepare the next generation of students passionate about cybersecurity and information security. Participants will develop critical technical skills and problem-solving abilities essential for thriving in this fast-evolving industry.
While technology education (TechEd) remains a core focus, we also seek to strengthen ties between students and industry professionals. By fostering meaningful connections and two-way knowledge exchange, we enable experts to better understand emerging talent and their aspirations, while giving students insight into current industry needs and expectations.
With strong support from our industry partners, this competition is designed not only as a learning platform but also as a bridge to professional networks. Through challenging, real-world scenarios, we aim to cultivate future cybersecurity leaders who will tackle complex issues and contribute to shaping a safer, more resilient digital landscape for Hong Kong and beyond.
